STAY TUNED!

So I am completely aware that it has been forever and a day since I have last posted something on here, and for that I apologize. Life sometimes tends to get a little off track, we all know that very well. With that said, I do want to say that I am currently working on a new web page! I want to show case the fashion forward side of Fort Worth in a more detail, up close and personal way. Better images, more information on local shopping hot spots and of course positivity to brighten up everyone's day a little more. So I have not  forgotten about everyone and I promise you that it will be worth the wait! I will definitely post the name of my new blog on here once everything comes into place. Love y'all. Stay, stylishly you!

WANNA KNOW A SECRET?

So there is this good little secret that I have kept to myself for awhile now but it's so good that I can't seem to hold it in any longer. You see for awhile now I have been shopping at a fabulous boutique that has some of the cutest and fashion forward trends but, that's not the best part! The best part is, they are completely and entirely afforadable! Wait it gets better: you can find these boutiques in almost every single mall!  Yes I know, I was ecstatic too! So here's the secret:

Some of you may recognize this name. You've walked right by it on your way to Forever 21 or Dillards but you just over looked it, didn't think much of it, I say this because I too did the same exact thing. At first glance it may not seem like a young, hip, fresh place to shop BUT please do not let this deceive you! Inside there are a lot of goodies! I have to say that the reason why I decided to walk into Francesca's was because from afar a beautiful turqouise necklace had caught my eye. Little did I know I was about to fall in love.

One thing that really sets them apart is that they are known for their big and bold necklaces, which are perfect for this summer. You won't find any simple necklaces here. But, simple can be boring, right?

If the necklaces swept you off your feet wait until you see the shoes, the purses, the clutches, the watche and the clothes. Yes they have that much!!!!

The following is the link make sure that you check it out and do a little on line shopping!

You can find a Francesca's Collection Boutique in the following locations:

4800 S Hulen Mall ( On the lower level )

University Park Village
1612 South University Drive

VARSITY STYLE!

Oh those glorious days of high school, how much do we miss them? The reality is not much!
Let's face it, when we think if high school we don't think about how amazing our style was, truth of the matter is, we all look back at those pictures and ask, "what was I thinking?!" There is one thing that always comes to mind  when thinking of high school and that is, the letterman jacket. All the cool kids wore it, and all the girls wanted the to date the guys in that jacket. After high school, the letterman jacket didn't have that much of an importance anymore and along with all of our high school crushes, became nothing else but a memory. Until now!

There is a new trend going on and it's called VARISITY STYLE and I have fallen in deep love with it!
Now when you think of these jackets you don't envision matching these with a pair of heels, strappy heels at that, but when you do so, the final product is pretty darn amazing!
The best jeans to pair these up with are skinny/slim jeans. I would stick to a solid color, nothing too  loud or printed. A simple tee underneath, layer on your necklaces and you're set!

Varsity Jacket with a skirt:

                                                                       Or a dress:

Casually Varsity:

These are excellent for anyone that has become tired of the blazer and wants to add something different to their wardrobe.

As you can see there are many ways to style the varsity jacket.

Now you can be a coold kid too!

VOGUE AND ESTEE LAUDER AT NEIMAN MARCUS? LET'S JUST SAY DREAMS DO COME TRUE.

Wednesday, June the 5th, is definitely a night that I will never forget! I had the pleasure of attending " Summer 2013 Beauty and Fashion Trend Presentation" that was held at Neiman Marcus. The show was full of elegance, style, and beautiful colors ( thanks to the makeup!)

Anne Vincent, Market Stylist for Vogue

I was standing around mingling with people when Anne Vincent approached me and asked me about my pants. I must say my heart skipped a beat! She was so sweet, so composed and had an amazing english accent that just made her that much major. She referred to my pants as fun while I admired her amazing ensemble.

Blair Patterson, Estee Lauder Global Makeup Director

When I signed up to get my makeup done with Estee Lauder's expert makeup artists, I had no idea who I was going to get! I sat in my chair as I chit-chatted with Lacey Salas, a talented makeup artist who EVERYONE needs to know about! When Blair Patterson himself made his way over to us. The first thing he asked me was if I was wearing fake eyelashes, after answering a somewhat nervous and starstruck yes he smiled and stated that I had done a very good job with them. A sort of relief came over me as I received approval from one of the most important names in the makeup industry. Needless to say that eyelash question was the opening line to a full blown, one on one, conversation with Blair Patterson.

Not only did he tell me a little bit of his start in this industry but he also gave me incredible makeup tips.
He taught me how to create the perfect wing on the corners of my eyes with a simple q-tip. And opened my eyes to what I considered my nemesis this whole time, eyeshadow.
I was so excited with my look that I honestly did not want to wipe it all of that night before I want to bed. And maybe I didn't. All in all, Blair Patterson was a sweet, down to earth, person who inspired me to pursue my dreams as a stylist!

As I had mentioned earlier, the incredible Lacey Salas was also one of the reasons behind my flawless face at the end of that night. She is a local and is from Fort Worth just like me, so of course we clicked! EVERYONE NEEDS TO GO CHECK HER PAGE OUT! She has been in the makeup industry for years!!!!! And her work is FLAWLESS.
The following is the link to her website:

She is extremely sweet and talented!
**Make sure to like her on Facebook too**

This was one of the most memorable events in my life so far and I'm so happy that I had the chance to share it with all of you!

So in the midst of all of my posts that I have on here, I kind of wanted to take the time to write a post to talk a little bit about who I am, where I'm from and what this blog means to me. This way you all can get to know me a little more:)

First off let me start off by saying that my name is Sandy Bel, alot of you may not know that because I usually never talk about my first name and let's face it Bel just sounds much more chic, does it not? I live in Texas and have lived here all of my life. Growing up here has been pretty normal, almost too normal.
I started to develop a taste for style at a young age, I even won best dressed at my 5th grade ceremony "graduation"! I was always drawn to bold prints and patterns,  and colors, basically outside the box pieces. Some of you may say that's great, what a creative imagination! Unfortunately, here in Fort Worth, that's not the mentality people seem to have. By constantly being surrounded by cowboy boots, t-shirts, jeans, repeat! I found myself in a prison where the bars were, casual wear, every single day!
As time went on I started realizing that I was not alone when it came to my style point of view, alot of young women and men started to become a bit more trendier and fashion forward around here. Then I came across people who wanted to be more on the style side but were stuck because they had no idea where they could go or what they could do to execute their stylish ideas. That's when StyleByBel was born!

I searched the internet for anything that could help Fort Worth and it's people when it came to being more stylish, I figured " there has to be a website, something that can tell us where to go or how!", sadly I had no success. So that's when I decided, why do I have to wait on someone to do what I can do! I can have that webpage where young girls or men can go to, whenever they need ideas for their outfits or to know what's in style!! And that is the meaning behind this blog.
I do not intend to know everything about the fashion world, because I am well aware that this world is one of the fastest, ever, changing, worlds! I'm sure that there are thousands of styles out there that I have yet to encounter, and lets face it, style now a days means something different to every single person. My intend is to search for the most stylish people in Fort Worth, to find the most eye-catching boutiques/stores, and somehow help those women or men that have forgotten about themselves and need a little "pick me up" in their wardrobe! After all, the way that you look, will determine how you start your day, how you want to feel, it's like a mood setter.
So, with all of this said, if any of you want me to write a post about any style, pieces, or trends in particular,  that you feel Fort Worthians must know about, feel free to let me know on here or via email! If you know of any trendsetters that you think I should interview, let me have their name!

I promise I won't let you all down!

So keep looking on here because I will make this blog way better in the days to come!

And remember, some people may call this "vain", but to me it's called ART!

SEQUIN, DARLIN', SEQUIN!

So first off, I have to apologize for being MIA these last couple of days. It's been a whirlwind! I have had so many trends, styles and ideas that have been waiting for me to release them as words and pictures on this blog, but like always time now a days is flying  by so fast that, I constantly find myself losing to the clock! Well, enough chit-chat, ( or should I say type-tap?) this post is about my newest affair, sequin shorts!!

Now I know that I had mentioned in my previous posts that I had attended the " Spring A Ding Ding Fashion Event" in Dallas, Texas and had completely fallen in love with the statement necklace trend, but another thing that really caught my eye were the sequin shorts! And lets face it, what girl doesn't like shorts, and shiny? I think it's safe to say that if you're a girly girl like I am then, sequin shorts are a major JACKPOT!

Let's start with the gold sequin shorts, shall we? We Shall !!!!!!

I wouldn't recommend gold sequin shorts as an "every day" outfit idea, these are more appropriate for a night out or a special ocassion/event! They are just a bit too flashy to be worn casual.

Next, we have a bit more of toned down look, and that is tights with sequin shorts and black sequin shorts!

I absolutely think that sequin shorts with tights is a great idea that can be worn everyday! Especially in the winter when you have those moments that you want to wear shorts but really can't. Well now you can throw on a sweater, some tights and your favorite over-sized tote, along with some flashy shorts!

SPRINGIN' IT UP WITH MY FRIENDS!

So this past weekend was an amazing one because I had the great opportunity to style one of my best friends during her photo shoot! For this one I was really trying to show the various sides that there is to her, all while trying to add some of the amazing and fabulous colors that are going to be in this Spring/Summer 2013! Take a look!

The woman behind these three different looks is a woman who is sweet, confident and independent.
The neon, button up top with the maxi skirt represents the business side of this woman, always in a hurry, trying to catch a cab, and always looking fabulous while doing it.

The maxi dress, with the floppy hat and the clutch shows her romantic side, perhaps she has to accompany her boyfriend to an outdoor work event?

Finally the striped neon top and the leather leggings showcase her "weekend with the girls" outfit! After a long week of work, she wants a night out with the girls to feel sexy and rock out !

2 Chains?! More like, 5 Chains!

So I had the privilege of attending the " Spring-A-Ding-Ding Fashion Event" last night  at Mockingbird Station in Dallas, Texas, and let's just say my face is still in awe! The event show cased the trends that  are going to be huge this Spring of 2013. There was alot of glitz, glam, shimmer, and patterns, but, there were two trends that really caught my eye when it came to accessories. The layering of necklaces and big, bold, statement necklaces!
Iam personally very excited about these trends, for two reasons, 1- You can find these kinds of necklaces anywhere at a very affordable price! And 2- this is the PERFECT way to upgrade any plain or casual outfit!
Now, I do recall this being a trend back in the day, when I wasn't so fashion savvy, so to make up for those lost days, I am determined to rock this trend this summer! And I am hoping that you will too!

Keep it classy in a MAXI!

So, lately I have been really addicted to the new season of The Rachel Zoe project. Let me just say that her line is GORGEOUS! The piece that I fell in love with the most is, the maxi skirts. We all know that Ms.Zoe is the QUEEN of the maxi skirt! So with that said, she was my inspiration behind this post! Let's hear it for all my Zoeanators out there! Yes, I just made that up!

Now, a maxi skirt can't be worn everywhere though. These should be worn to casual events, or just for your "outfit of the day." In her words, " they are everything!" I personally don't think that they are appropriate for special ocassions, ex: weddings, etc. Now the only time that I feel a maxi skirt could be kind of appropriate would be, a nice dinner in the summertime, WITH  a wedge, no gladiators. Gladiators are more of a casual deal.
Other than that, maxis are strictly to be worn, casual but cute!

One of the best combinations, in my personal opinion, is a denim button up with a soft pastel maxi skirt! Best of both worlds in my opinion, because you have the laid back feel of a denim top, yet you still feel femenine and flirty with the pastel color and the skirt!

You don't have to wear denim with a maxi skirt, that is just my personal favorite. You can also wear different kinds of tops from dark colors to yes, even striped ones!

With a white maxi skirt you really do want to keep the rest of the outfit simple. A nice simple top is always the best choice because, the skirt is so clean and fresh and long, that if you were to add more to this outfit, it would just go overboard! A strapless top is perfect!!

I am a big fan of belts with these skirts! And since I am going through my gold accessories phase, the following pictures are great examples of how you can incorporate a gold belt into these outfits!
Gold of course is not the only color belt that you can wear some of my other favorites with these skirts are:
Black
Brown
Silver
Cream
You can do any color belt, for a more casual look go with a skinny belt, for a more dramatic look ALWAYS choose a thicker one !

Then there is the neon colored/bright maxi skirt! These of course are the most fun! But with these you really do need to becareful, keep it simple! The color is already so loud that you don't want to add too much to it! Here you can see how you can pair a striped top with a bright color! Perfection.

The maxi dress. How can anyone not love these?! And just fyi... Target has some great ones right now! :)

Now, let's talk about the shoe you would wear with these, and I have one thing to say
NO STILLETOS
&
NO CLOSED TOE FLATS
should be worn with these skirts or dresses! Ever.

Instead you want to do gladiator, gladiator, gladiator! All the way!

Now if you MUST have some sort of height, then the only shoe that can work well with these is a wedge!

Add an over-sized cluth and there you have it! A complete Maxi-Sized outfit!
