2 Chains?! More like, 5 Chains!

So I had the privilege of attending the " Spring-A-Ding-Ding Fashion Event" last night  at Mockingbird Station in Dallas, Texas, and let's just say my face is still in awe! The event show cased the trends that  are going to be huge this Spring of 2013. There was alot of glitz, glam, shimmer, and patterns, but, there were two trends that really caught my eye when it came to accessories. The layering of necklaces and big, bold, statement necklaces!
Iam personally very excited about these trends, for two reasons, 1- You can find these kinds of necklaces anywhere at a very affordable price! And 2- this is the PERFECT way to upgrade any plain or casual outfit!
Now, I do recall this being a trend back in the day, when I wasn't so fashion savvy, so to make up for those lost days, I am determined to rock this trend this summer! And I am hoping that you will too!

Keep it classy in a MAXI!

So, lately I have been really addicted to the new season of The Rachel Zoe project. Let me just say that her line is GORGEOUS! The piece that I fell in love with the most is, the maxi skirts. We all know that Ms.Zoe is the QUEEN of the maxi skirt! So with that said, she was my inspiration behind this post! Let's hear it for all my Zoeanators out there! Yes, I just made that up!

Now, a maxi skirt can't be worn everywhere though. These should be worn to casual events, or just for your "outfit of the day." In her words, " they are everything!" I personally don't think that they are appropriate for special ocassions, ex: weddings, etc. Now the only time that I feel a maxi skirt could be kind of appropriate would be, a nice dinner in the summertime, WITH  a wedge, no gladiators. Gladiators are more of a casual deal.
Other than that, maxis are strictly to be worn, casual but cute!

One of the best combinations, in my personal opinion, is a denim button up with a soft pastel maxi skirt! Best of both worlds in my opinion, because you have the laid back feel of a denim top, yet you still feel femenine and flirty with the pastel color and the skirt!

You don't have to wear denim with a maxi skirt, that is just my personal favorite. You can also wear different kinds of tops from dark colors to yes, even striped ones!

With a white maxi skirt you really do want to keep the rest of the outfit simple. A nice simple top is always the best choice because, the skirt is so clean and fresh and long, that if you were to add more to this outfit, it would just go overboard! A strapless top is perfect!!

I am a big fan of belts with these skirts! And since I am going through my gold accessories phase, the following pictures are great examples of how you can incorporate a gold belt into these outfits!
Gold of course is not the only color belt that you can wear some of my other favorites with these skirts are:
Black
Brown
Silver
Cream
You can do any color belt, for a more casual look go with a skinny belt, for a more dramatic look ALWAYS choose a thicker one !

Then there is the neon colored/bright maxi skirt! These of course are the most fun! But with these you really do need to becareful, keep it simple! The color is already so loud that you don't want to add too much to it! Here you can see how you can pair a striped top with a bright color! Perfection.

The maxi dress. How can anyone not love these?! And just fyi... Target has some great ones right now! :)

Now, let's talk about the shoe you would wear with these, and I have one thing to say
NO STILLETOS
&
NO CLOSED TOE FLATS
should be worn with these skirts or dresses! Ever.

Instead you want to do gladiator, gladiator, gladiator! All the way!

Now if you MUST have some sort of height, then the only shoe that can work well with these is a wedge!

Add an over-sized cluth and there you have it! A complete Maxi-Sized outfit!

THE BEST BUZZ YOU WILL EVER FIND IN FORT WORTH!

So, in my mission to find some of the best fashion forward boutiques in Fort Worth, I came across a boutique that really blew my mind! I found it on - line and immediately fell in love with what I saw. So of course I had to go and see for myself if all this greatness was real or too good to be true ( I didn't want it to be a Catfish you know!) But my oh my was it real!!!! Right off of Camp Bowie is a cute little boutique, stored with some BIG and pleasent surprises!! Ladies and gentlemen meet, Beehive!!!!!

As soon as I entered I was greeted by a beautiful, tall blonde lady, she was really sweet and attentive, her name is Alyson Jennings one of the managers. I started talking to her about the boutique, after all I needed to know more about my new love interest! Turns out this boutique is originally from Austin, Texas, it has only been around in Fort Worth for about a year and a half, so not too long, and it's not only a great place for young adult women to shop in, but also for their moms! " This is a place for moms and daughters to come and shop together," these were Alyson's words when I asked her how she would describe the style/fashion that they carried. " The owner ( who is based in Austin ) wanted this to be a place for moms and daughters."
I have to say, I really like that idea!!!!
After looking around and observing their clothes I can safely say that this is a great place for you to go get your outfit for a night out with your girls/ and / or date, but at the same time your mom will find an outfit to go have brunch with her girlfriends. So if you are an older women who likes to dress up to date and sophisticated, this is definitely the place for you.
From fun accessories to hats, belts, purses, clutches, skinnies, dresses and everything in between, this place nails it with diversity when it comes to color and styles! Enough yip-yap, let me show you what I saw when I explored Beehive.

When I walked inside I came across some amazing accessories, fun, big and bright necklaces, purses and clutches!

How adorable is this necklace it has a very elegant-vintage feel to it!

Everything was so neat and organized!

The pop of red in the decor is pleasently nice. That is one thing that I liked about this boutique, it was very colorful and had a fresh feel to it! No to mention the soothing music in the background that they played, it made a very relaxing ambiance to shop in.

Clutches and satchels are a must in every girls closet! Beehive had  major variety!!

I was really liking the neckalces, they had so much color and a very elegant look!

But, you can't wear accessories without some clothes... or you can but that would just be weird!

How neat is this?! I don't know but when I see clothes organized like this, it really makes me want to shop more, without all the hectic work of having to dig for my clothes! ( Forever 21 anyone?)

First of all, I really like how they have colors that are very soft and romantic !!!
